Here are some of our favorites.
This is a gorgeous wax doll by Kimberly Lasher. We think that this doll must be from an early period in her career. The doll is named "Asian Princess" and is about 21" tall. She is OOAK (one of a kind).
We found a few handmade artist teddy bears by Audie of the Netherlands. These are generally one of a kind bears made of European mohair. This artist uses a classic, antique styled teddy bear design, with long articulated limbs and felt paws, an articulated head with hand stitched muzzle, and a classic protruding humpback. Here are some photos:
Here are a couple of pink mohair teddy bears by Susan Arnot using her Under The Apple Tree label. Arnot made these bears from mohair of differing lengths and textures.
We have a couple of items from the 1993 Disneyland Toy and Teddy Bear Classic. First is a lovely artist doll my Marilyn Radzat. Radzat is a well known doll artist, her unique, fantasy inspired creations often appear in the Doll Reader and similar doll industry periodicals. This doll is Jenny:
Here is a handcrafted mohair teddy bear from the same show. This guy was created by an Orange County, California teddy bear company, WHATABEAR, the artists are Robert Welch and Allen Chau. Doodles is jauntily dressed and accompanied by a handmade hobby horse, Macaroni. Both artist signed the tag, the size of this edition was 25 pieces.
This is Egg Baby. She is an artist created wax over porcelain baby doll, intended as a nostalgic reproduction of an antique turn of the century German candy container. You don't see one of these everyday!
This lady assembled the most amazing collection of miniature teddies. Please note the penny present in some of the photos, it demonstrates the lilliputian scale of these items. The marvel of the items is the exquisite workmanship. Most of the teddies are fully jointed, made from mohair, and fancifully accessorized.
This is a beautiful wax over porcelain doll by Israeli artist Edna Dali. The doll is named Alice, she is about 22" tall and elaborately dressed.
Look at this little rabbit, she has been getting a lot of attention on our site. Tiara has jointed arms and neck for posing, and stationary legs. She is a 10" rabbit by Wendy Brent. Brent is a well respected artist with pieces in major private and public collections, including the Smithsonian. Her elegant and fanciful original creations combine fine materials, expert craftsmanship and inspired design. Does Tiara entrance you?
This is a Beaver Valley rabbit by Kaylee Nilan. Camille was made in a limited edition of 25 pieces in 1993. She contains a wire armature that allows for posing, and flat feet that allow her to stand on her own.
Here is a Beaver Valley open mouth teddy bear. This is Lizsa, she was made in a limited edition of 100 in 1991. Look at those fierce teeth!
