Disney Store London Dolls Leaner Face Mold

I recently purchased a collection of special Disney dolls, including Disney Store Exclusives, Disney Store London dolls, and Walt Disney World dolls.  These are Barbie sized dolls, measuring about 11" to 12" tall.  We've listed some of the dolls in our Ebay Store American Artifacts.

I wanted to share some photos from some of the Disney Store London dolls here, because they do look a little different than the typical Disney Princess dolls made for the American market.  The faces are longer and more angular.  Perhaps American buyers prefer a rounder face and European buyers prefer a leaner face?  Let us know what you think about the face molds.

Black Dolls Exhibit At Mingei International Museum in San Diego

Just read about a doll exhibit entitled Black Dolls, running through July 5, 2015 at the Mingei International Museum in San Diego.  The exhibit features 125 dolls dating from 1850 to 1940, all displaying the make do ingenuity of creating a doll with the materials available on hand, including cloth, shell, leather, sock bodies, etc..  The result is a stunning array of folk art that reflects personality and whimsy.  Go visit if you can.

Here are some photos of the dolls:

Dollhouse Miniatures

Love the lilliputian? So do I!  When I make my rounds of estate previews, estate sales and auctions, I always have an eye out for the stray early dollhouse miniature.  Here are some recent finds.
